Welcome to the course


Our purpose this semester is to assist one another as students, teachers, administrators and educational leaders in understanding various strategies for curriculum change. We will examine from multiple perspectives the systemic factors that enable (as well as prevent) change in education. We will observe the resonance of current national reform efforts (such as No Child Left Behind) and the realities of education within specific contexts (such as lack of funding, violence, illiteracy). We will also pay particular attention to the mediation and implementation of curriculum change through the uses (and non-uses) of technology.
